What is Erasmus?

Erasmus is the European Union’s program to support education, teaching, youth, and sports in Europe. The program strongly focuses on promoting social participation and the involvement of young people in democratic life. The general target audience for Erasmus activities includes institutions involved in higher education, their staff, and students.

 

The activities supported under the Erasmus+ Program are as follows:

 

Student Mobility Activities

Student mobility is carried out in two ways:

  • Student Mobility for Studies
  • Student Mobility for Traineeship

 

Enrolled students in formal education at higher education institutions can participate in student mobility.

 

Student Mobility for Studies: This mobility activity is carried out within the framework of existing inter-institutional agreements of the higher education institution.

 

Student Mobility for Traineeship: This mobility activity involves the enrolled student conducting an internship abroad at a university, business, or suitable workplace related to their academic field within the higher education institution.

 

Staff Mobility Activities

Staff mobility activities is carried out in two ways:

  • Staff Mobility for Teaching Assignments (STA)
  • Staff Mobility for Staff Training (STT)

 

Staff Mobility for Teaching Assignments: This activity area allows staff to teaching at a higher education institution and engage in joint academic/educational activities with the partner institution related to teaching.

 

Staff Mobility for Staff Training: This activity area allows staff to receive training at a higher education institution or a business. Within this activity, individuals have the opportunity to enhance skills related to their current job through various training programs.
