Erasmus Language Proficiency Exam

Students who wish to benefit from the Erasmus summer and graduation internship for the 2024-2025 Academic Year, as well as the Erasmus fall semester study mobility for the 2025-2026 Academic Year, are required to meet the application and English language exam (or equivalent) criteria listed below..

Application Criteria:

1. Students must complete their online applications through the ARELim between 18 February 2025 and 7 March 2025, by 4:00 PM. Students who do not apply will not be allowed to take the exam.
2. Associate and undergraduate students must have a minimum GPA of 2.20/4.0, while master’s and doctoral students must have a minimum GPA of 2.50/4.0.
3. When calculating the final grade, the GPA will account for 50% and the foreign language score will account for 50%.
4. Students who apply for the foreign language exam but do not attend, or who are selected but do not participate in the Erasmus mobility, will have 10 points deducted from their score in their next Erasmus mobility application.
5. All full-time students (regular education) enrolled at our university can apply, but preparatory class and distance education students are not eligible. The ranking for each department will be determined based on the principle of fairness and the previous semester’s quota.

English Language Exam Criteria:

1. English Language Exam will be announced at a later date. It is the student’s responsibility to check of the exam details. For detailed information about the exam content, you can contact the School of Foreign Languages. For information about the Erasmus processes, you can contact the International Office-Erasmus Coordinatorship via international@arel.edu.tr.
2. The English Language Exam will be prepared by the School of Foreign Languages at our university. Apart from this exam, the accepted language exams and score requirements are as follows:

• YDS (minimum 60 points)
• YÖKDİL (minimum 60 points)
• TOEFL iBT (minimum 80 points)
